Abstract
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of the molecular evolutionary characteristics of SARS-CoV-2 variants emerging in the United States. By analyzing genomic sequences of the virus collected from various time points and geographic regions, we identified key mutation patterns and evolutionary trends that provide insights into the virus’s adaptation and spread within the population.
Method
- Genomic Data Collection: Collected and curated SARS-CoV-2 genomic sequences from the United States
- Phylogenetic Analysis: Constructed phylogenetic trees to trace evolutionary relationships
- Mutation Analysis: Identified key mutations in spike protein and other regions
- Evolutionary Dynamics: Analyzed temporal and spatial mutation patterns to understand viral evolution
Key Results
- Mutation Patterns: Identified characteristic mutation patterns in US SARS-CoV-2 strains
- Evolutionary Trends: Characterized the evolutionary dynamics of the virus in the US population
- Surveillance Insights: Provided scientific basis for future surveillance and prevention of virus variants
- Public Health Implications: Results contributed to understanding the pandemic trajectory in the United States
